V. Course Description: Concepts of diversity, equity, and inclusion are examined with a focus on improving population health outcomes through analyzing disease prevention and health promotion concepts.
VI. Detailed Description of Content of the Course:
Population focused disease prevention and health promotion concepts are analyzed. Influences of social, biological, cultural, and geographic variables on health outcomes are explored. Concepts of diversity, equity, and inclusion are examined with a focus on improving population health outcomes.

VI. Detailed Description of Conduct of Course:
This online course may include but is not limited to seminar discussions (faculty and student led), lectures, guest speakers, case studies, written assignments, projects, and other teaching-learning strategies as appropriate. Because the course is online, audio or video presentations/lectures, discussion boards, chat rooms, and other instructional technology strategies may be used.
VII. Goals and Objectives of the Course:
Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Explore the historical development of health promotion and disease prevention from a global perspective. MSN Essentials 8; PO 8
- Interpret epidemiological, social, and environmental data to draw inferences about the health status of patient populations and potential interventions related to health promotion and preservation. MSN Essentials 1, 8; PO 1, 8
