IV. Prerequisites: CINE 310; or permission of instructor.

V. Course Description: 

Students will be introduced to special topics in cinema and/or screen studies.

Note(s): This course can be repeated with change in topic.

VI. Detailed Description of Content of the Course:

This is a variable topic course focused on cinema and/or screen studies. Course topics can include, but are not limited to, analysis of films by a specific director, films produced in a specific country or minority group, television history, and video game/interactive media analysis.

VI. Detailed Description of Conduct of Course:

Conduct of the course will vary, depending on the course topic.  Some subjects may require a performance approach; other subjects may be approached with a lecture/discussion format.  All courses will be appropriate for the 300/400 level student.

VII. Goals and Objectives of the Course:

This course is meant to provide students an opportunity to examine special topics within cinema and/or screen studies. Specific goals/objectives will vary depending on the topic of the course. However, goals/objectives will reflect the expectations for an upper-level course.

VIII. Assessment Measures:

Tools will change depending on the specific course/topic. Typically, the course will involve writing critical analyses or participation in other class projects. Examinations may also be included.
