Art museum opens new location with “Hollins Faculty Art Show”

Thursday March 22, 2018, was a special day for Radford University’s Art Museum. It was the grand opening of the new Art Museum on Tyler. The museum was relocated from its previous location in the Bondurant Center on Main Street in Radford. The newly renovated space offers a larger area for gallery displays.

The Hollins Faculty Art Show was the inaugural exhibit for the new art museum on Tyler Ave.

The inaugural exhibition in the new gallery is the “Hollins Faculty Art Show,” which features the works of five artists who teach at Hollins University. The museum’s opening reception was well attended, with members of the community gathering to discuss the new space, sample delicious hors d’oeuvres and snacks, and, of course, admire the exceptional artwork on display.

The museum’s permanent move to 214 Tyler Avenue is anticipated to bring more foot traffic to the museum. The location is right across from campus and next to BT’s, a popular local eating spot.

The “Hollins Faculty Art Show” will remain on display until April 28, 2018. The gallery is open from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon to 4:00 p.m. on Saturdays. Call 540-831-5754 for more information. Admission is free.
