III. Credit Hours: 3 credits

IV. Prerequisites: PBHL 494.

V. Course Description: 

Serves as a summative experience, bridging a student’s academic preparation with meaningful, hands-on job tasks and activities in public health-related facilities or organizations.  A minimum of 120 hours is required for the internship. 

Note(s): Applied Learning designated course.  This is a pass/fail course.

VI. Goals and Objectives of the Course:

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will:

  1. Demonstrate self-management and leadership skills.
  2. Reflect on the professional skills gained through the internship experiences.
  3. Evaluate the strengths and challenges of the internship experience in regards to professional development.
  4. Analyze the critical factors required to manage the facility/organization.
