V. Course Description: 

Students examine the roles of communication networks and strategies in managerial decision making. There is an emphasis on the role of communication skills in managing change, organizational conflict, coaching, appraisal, and corporate cultures. Cases are used to analyze and address specific management problems.

Note(s): Cultural or Behavioral Analysis designated course.

VI. Goals and Objectives of the Course:

Upon completion of the course, the student will:

  1. Compare self-analysis competencies to benchmark leadership capabilities and emotional intelligence. 
  2. Discuss key qualities that drive highly effective leaders.
  3. Develop interpersonal skills to listen, give feedback, mentor, develop teams, and motivate employees.
  4. Distinguish between various communication and decision-making strategies.
