COVID-19 Testing Information
Radford University is committed to providing regular testing opportunities for students, faculty, and staff. That commitment began when the University reopened and resumed operations and services as part of the Fall 2020 semester. That commitment will continue during the Spring 2021 semester.
For the Fall 2020 semester, the University offered a number of surveillance testing opportunities for students, faculty, and staff, in addition to entry testing for students and exit testing for students, faculty, and staff. For the Spring 2021 semester, open or walk-up testing will be available on the main campus for students, faculty, and staff throughout the week and at Radford University Carilion (RUC) for students, faculty, and staff on a weekly basis. As we begin the semester, there will not be a registration process for either location. Based on utilization, the sign-up process and/or other logistics associated with open or walk-up testing may be altered to better serve the campus community.
For information regarding re-entry and exit testing for the Spring 2021 semester, please see below under “Other Testing Opportunities.” For specific questions regarding COVID-19 testing, please email COVID19@radford.edu.

Spring 2021 Other Testing Opportunities
Re-entry Testing: As students returned to campus and the local area, the University engaged in COVID-19 testing utilizing a prevalence model. That model, which was also utilized in the Fall 2020 semester, required testing for identified students, including resident and non-resident students, returning from high prevalence areas. A new addition for the Spring 2021 semester was the distribution and completion of a Student Travel Disclosure Form. Student responses to that form were also utilized to identify specific individuals to be tested. Student re-entry testing occurred on the main campus from January 13-17 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and at RUC on January 15 and 16 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The extended period for student return was consistent with the Fall 2020 semester and was aimed at reducing density in residence halls.
Exit Testing: Information regarding exit testing will be determined and released in late March.
