University COVID-19 Dashboard for Fall 2020 Reporting Archive

Throughout the Fall 2020 semester, the University COVID-19 Dashboard was updated on a weekly basis to provide our community with campus-based testing information and related data.  The Dashboard provides cumulative data, including move-in testing, on-going testing, and exit testing, as well as tests administered over the semester break.   

Updates were made by the COVID-19 Coordinator with support from the Division of Student Affairs and the Division of Finance and Administration, specifically Institutional Research, every Tuesday and included data updates from Monday through Sunday of the prior week. The final update was posted on November 20, 2020 and included data from November 16-19, 2020.

The University COVID-19 Dashboard for the Fall 2020 semester was archived on January 13, 2021 following the addition of 959 campus-based tests with 19 positive results between November 20, 2020 and January 12, 2021.

NEW POSITIVE CASES FOR FALL 2020 SEMESTER BREAK

*Tests administered in partnership with:

  1. PathGroup for move-in testing from August 1-14, 2020;
  2. The Radford University Student Health Center for symptomatic student and close contact testing beginning on August 12, 2020 and continuing through November 19, 2020;
  3. The Virginia Department of Health’s New River Health District for surveillance testing of main campus students, faculty, and staff on August 28, 2020, September 11, 2020, and October 30, 2020;
  4. Carilion Clinic and the Radford University Student Health Center for mandatory testing of students in clinicals on September 10, 2020 and mandatory testing of students and faculty in clinicals on September 17-18, 2020 and September 24, 2020;
  5. The Radford University Student Health Center for surveillance testing of Radford University (RUC) students, faculty, and staff on September 18, 2020;
  6. PathGroup for exit testing of RUC students, faculty, and staff on November 16, 2020;
  7. The Radford University Student Health Center for exit testing of main campus students, faculty, and staff on November 16-17, 2020, as well as November 16-19, 2020;  
  8. The Radford University Student Health Center for student testing during the semester break between November 19, 2020 and January 12, 2021; and
  9. The Department of Athletics for testing during the semester break between November 19, 2020 and January 12, 2021.

IMPORTANT NOTE: From November 16-19, 2020, the Radford University Student Health Center administered 88 tests with four positive results, representing a positivity rate of 4.55%.

IMPORTANT NOTE: On November 16, 2020, Radford University, in partnership with PathGroup, hosted an exit testing event by appointment for RUC students, faculty, and staff. Walk-ups were also accepted. At RUC, 70 students and 20 faculty and staff participated in exit testing with zero positive results, representing a positivity rate of zero percent.

IMPORTANT NOTE: On November 16-17, 2020, Radford University, in partnership with the Radford University Student Health Center, hosted exit testing events by appointment for main campus students, faculty, and staff. Walk-ups were also accepted. Additionally, due to scheduling conflicts, a small number of students, faculty, and staff requested to participate in exit testing outside of the scheduled exit testing hours by visiting the Student Health Center between November 16-19, 2020. On the main campus, a total of 590 students and 176 faculty and staff participated in exit testing with 15 positive results from 13 students and two staff, representing a positivity rate of 1.96%.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Provides information on main campus site/surveillance testing only. On October 30, 2020, Radford University, in partnership with the New River Health District, hosted two testing sites on the main campus for students, as well as faculty and staff. As part of this surveillance testing, 207 individuals were tested with one positive case identified, resulting in a positivity rate of 0.48%. Of those tested, 153 were employees, specifically faculty and staff members, and 54 were students. PRIOR CONTEXT: (1) On September 11, 2020, Radford University, in partnership with the New River Health District, hosted two testing sites on the main campus for students, as well as faculty and staff. As part of this surveillance testing, 275 individuals were tested with zero positive cases identified, resulting in a positivity rate of zero percent. Of those tested, 165 were employees, specifically faculty and staff members, and 110 were students. (2) On August 28, 2020, Radford University, in partnership with the New River Health District, hosted two surveillance testing sites on the main campus for students, as well as faculty and staff. As part of that surveillance testing, 492 individuals were tested with a total of 24 positive cases identified, resulting in a positivity rate of 4.88%. Of those confirmed positive cases, there were 23 students, one staff member, and no faculty members.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Provides information on main campus site/mandatory testing for select students and faculty members participating in clinicals through Carilion Clinic. On September 24, 2020, Radford University, in partnership with Carilion Clinic and the Radford University Student Health Center, hosted testing on the main campus for students, participating in clinicals. As part of this mandatory testing, 149 students and faculty members were tested with zero positive results, representing a positivity rate of zero percent. This was the third and final week of mandatory testing for students and faculty members in Carilion Clinic placements. PRIOR CONTEXT: On September 17-18, 2020, Radford University, in partnership with Carilion Clinic and the Radford University Student Health Center, hosted testing on the main campus for students, participating in clinicals. As part of this mandatory testing, 153 students and faculty members were tested with two positive results, representing a positivity rate of 1.3%. Also, on September 10, 2020, Radford University, in partnership with Carilion Clinic and the Radford University Student Health Center, hosted testing on the main campus for students, participating in clinicals. As part of this mandatory testing,129 students were tested with six positive results, representing a positivity rate of 4.65%.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Provides information on RUC site/surveillance testing only. On September 18, 2020, the Radford University Student Health Center hosted on-site testing for RUC students, faculty, and staff. As part of this surveillance testing, 48 individuals were tested with one positive case identified, resulting in a positivity rate of 2.1%. Of those tested, 28 were employees, specifically faculty and staff members, and 20 were students.
