Fall 2024 - Admitted Student Information

Congratulations on your admission to Radford University! We look forward to welcoming you to our community!

If you have not done so, please submit the following documentation in order to issue your immigration paperwork:

  1. Copy of your passport biographical page (the page with your picture and information).
  2. Affidavit of Support [PDF].
  3. Bank Statement (Please check out our Financial Requirements form to find out the minimum amount of funds you must show in the bank statement).

You may submit the information above to globaled@radford.edu or upload it on your student application portal.

Below you will find the next steps required for your transition to campus. Please note that, depending on your student type (freshman, transfer, exchange, etc.), you may not need to complete some of these steps.

Step 1 - Confirm Your Enrollment

Confirm your enrollment by completing the Enrollment Confirmation Form and paying a USD $200 non-refundable deposit in your Highlander Portal (check out this step-by-step video on how to complete your Enrollment Confirmation Form). After confirming your enrollment, use the checklist in your Highlander Portal to keep track of additional materials required for your enrollment.

Step 2 - Activate Your OneCampus Portal

OneCampus is the Radford University student portal and many actions are housed here (like registering for classes, applying for housing and paying your University bill).

You can activate your OneCampus account (check out detailed instructions here) using your RU ID and claim code, both of which can be found in your Highlander Portal

Step 3 - Submit Your Housing Application

Submit your housing application in OneCampus (you can find full instructions here). Please note that incoming freshmen on main campus are required to live on-campus. Transfer students are not required to live on campus but may apply for on-campus housing.

Step 4 - Register for Orientation

Register for Quest orientation in your Highlander Portal enrollment checklist. Registration for Quest will open on January 15.

Please submit your final transcripts (marksheets) by 1 August (Fall intake) or 1 January (Spring intake). You can send your transcripts to:

Step 7 - Apply for Your Visa

The McGlothlin Center for Global Education and Engagement assists admitted international students in securing a student visa prior to entering the United States.

There are two type student visas that we support:

  • F-1 Visas: This visa category is intended for students seeking a full degree program at Radford University. If you were admitted into a full degree program, you will find your Form I-20 on this packet.
  • J-1 Visas: This visa category is intended for students coming to Radford University for an exchange program (typically 1 or 2 semesters). If you were admitted into the exchange program, you will find your Form DS-2019 on this packet.

The following documents are typically required when applying for a visa:

  • A completed online visa application form.
  • Form I-20 or DS-2019.
  • Proof that you paid the SEVIS fee & visa application fees.
  • A passport valid for at least 6 months or more into the future.
  • Financial support documentation (no older than 2 months).
  • Your admission letter from Radford University.
  • Proof of home country ties (optional but highly recommended): proof of property ownership, bank accounts, significant family in your home country, or a job offer in your home country upon completion of your U.S. studies, among others.

Since visa requirements change from time to time, please check with the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in your area to ensure there are no additional documents you will need when applying for your visa.

When you go to the American embassy or consulate in your country and present your I-20 or DS-2019, the Consular Officer will place a visa stamp (usually in the form of a sticker) on a page inside your passport. The visa: (1) gives you permission to apply for entry to the U.S.; (2) indicates the type of visa you have been given for your stay in the U.S (student visa); (3) when the visa expires; and (4) how many times you can enter the U.S. using that visa (e.g. single, multiple, etc.).

You may not enter the U.S. on your F-1 or J-1 visa more than 30 days prior to the report date on your I-20 or DS-2019.
 

Step 8 - Pay Your Tuition and Fees

There are various options on how to pay your tuition and fees.

Step 9 - Check In

All new Radford University students are required to check-in. It is a simple process that will only take a few minutes to complete. The process just asks you to confirm that you are indeed going to attend RU this term and to verify or update your contact and emergency contact information. It is very important to the University that we have accurate contact and emergency contact information for you. Completion of the check-in process is required of all students in order to:

  1. View your course schedule.
  2. Make fall course schedule adjustments.
  3. View midterm and final grades.
