COVID-19 Dashboard Confirms Strong Finish to Spring Semester

Important Update on COVID-19 Global Health Pandemic at Radford University Message from President Brian O. Hemphill, Ph.D.

Dear Radford Family:

As part of the University’s weekly updates throughout the global health pandemic, the latest testing data is now available on the University COVID-19 Dashboard. To date, as part of the Spring 2021 semester, the University has administered a total of 7,205 tests with 119 positives, representing an overall positivity rate of 1.65 percent. For the most recent reporting period, April 19-25, 2021, Radford University administered 299 tests with two positives, representing a weekly positivity rate of 0.67 percent.

As this week represents the final week of the semester with final exams being administered now and Commencement exercises being held later this week, students, faculty, and staff are reminded that exit testing is available on the main campus both yesterday and today and at Radford University Carilion both today and tomorrow. All Highlanders are to be commended for the manner in which our campus and our community responded to the pandemic throughout the Spring 2021 semester. With strong compliance to health and safety protocols and requirements, we were successful in maintaining a low number of positive cases. Our resilient and responsive efforts were truly on display each and every day!

With Highlander Pride,

Brian O. Hemphill, Ph.D.,
President
