Do Your Part! Carefully Consider Halloween Activities (Message from Vice President for Student Affairs Susan P. Trageser, Ed.D. to Main Campus Students)

Dear Students:

As we approach Halloween, I am reaching out to remind you of the importance of following public health guidance and University requirements.

Due to the on-going global health pandemic, local health officials are advising against participation in traditional Halloween activities.  As such, the University is not organizing and/or sponsoring Halloween-themed activities, which have been strong components of our regular engagement, outreach, and programming.

And, due to the on-campus and off-campus gathering limitation of 10 individuals, you are reminded to refrain from attending events and participating in activities that are in violation of this requirement.  Please know that the limitation is being heavily enforced by University officials and those violating it will be held accountable through the Office of Student Standards and Conduct.

Again, if you choose to ignore public health guidance and University requirements, you will be held accountable.  Furthermore, you are at risk of contracting and/or spreading COVID-19.  Please be mindful of your individual commitment and social responsibility to do what is right!

I hope that you have an enjoyable, but safe, Halloween.  Also, I encourage you to make the most of the remaining weeks of the Fall 2020 semester by promoting the health and well-being of yourself and your fellow Highlanders!

Best,
Susan
