Financial Requirements

2025-26 Requirements to Issue I-20 or DS-2019

 

All students needing an I-20 (degree-seeking) or DS-2019 (exchange) must submit the following documents via their Highlander Portal: Undergraduate | Graduate):

  1. Affidavit and Bank Statement showing sufficient funding (see below for minimum funding requirement amounts).
    1. Must not be older than six months from the student's application date.
    2. Must be in English or translated into English.
    3. An Affidavit of Support for Dependents is also required for each dependent. You can email this document to globaled@radford.edu)
  2. Copy of the biographical page on the student's passport.

Notes 

  • All international students attending Radford University are required, and will be automatically enrolled, in the Radford University International Health Insurance Plan managed by CISI.
  • Housing and meal estimates are based on a 2-person traditional-style residence hall with a meal plan. Actual costs may vary dependent on the student's choice.
  • Miscellaneous expenses are estimated and include books, health insurance, transportation and other personal expenses.
  • Tuition for undergraduate programs is based on 12-18 credit hours per semester (24-36 credit hours total for Fall and Spring) and no summer program. 
  • Tuition for graduate programs is based on 9 credit hours per semester (18 credit hours total for Fall and Spring) and no summer program.
  • Any Radford University scholarships a student receives can be deducted from the total costs shown above.

Dependents

  • An additional $5,000 must be shown per dependent in order for a dependent I-20 or DS-2019 to be issued.
