Survey Research Methods Presentation

Matthew Blackwell and other students in Dr. Wisecup's Survey Research Methods class (SOCY 480) presented their research on recycling Friday, April 20 in Heth Hall.

Students, including Shayna Gutcho, in two sections of the course engaged in their own research outside of class throughout the semester related to recycling at Radford University.

The students researched recycling programs at peer institutions, and a team took a trip to Appalachian State University to see how recycling is done at a leader in sustainability in higher education. Casey McClelland is pictured above.

Students also identified supplemental data, studied recycling at Radford, and identified key informants and stakeholders related to recycling at RU. Above: Mya Murphy.

The classes created two surveys, for students and faculty, and presented their findings Friday in two sessions. Above: Erica Peters.

Additionally, Sam Montana, who completed SOCY 480 a year ago, created a brief documentary and PSA regarding Recycling at RU to complement the research project and those were screened at each presentation. Above: Dr. Wisecup.
