Meet Radford's Pre-Law Advisor

Don Martin, J.D., is the Pre-Law Advisor for Radford University. A graduate of Yale College and William & Mary Law School, Mr. Martin worked as a corporate litigator for McGuireWoods, LLP; Assistant General Counsel of the Central Intelligence Agency, and General Counsel of the Senate Intelligence Committee. He is ready to help you with any questions you have about legal careers, law school, and the LSAT.

What is the best major for law school?

Law Schools accept students from any and all majors. Focus on getting a good G.P.A.!

When should I start studying for the LSAT?

During your first years at Radford, focus on maintaining a strong G.P.A. Plan on studying for and taking the LSAT the summer before your senior year at Radford.

Do I need a legal internship?

No. While a legal internship might help you decide whether or not to pursue a legal career, it won’t have much of an effect on your admission to law school. Focus on your G.P.A. and a strong LSAT score.
