Fall 2017 Psychology and Gender Research Symposium
Tuesday, December 5th
The Department of Psychology's Fift Annual Psychology and Gender Research Symposium will be held Tuesday, December 5th. All graduate and undergraduate psychology student research and class projects are welcome, as well as projects from students involved in gender-related scholarship/research in any discipline.
The symposium will consist of three presentation sessions. The first session will be for oral presentations. This session will be held from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm in Heth 014. The second session will be for the first round of poster presentations. This session will be held from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm in Heth 043. The third session will be for the second round of poster presentations. This session will be held from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm in Heth 043.
All presenters (individuals or groups) will need to submit an abstract for the symposium by 5:00 pm on Friday, November 17th. The abstract should be mailed to Dr. Jenessa Steele. The abstract should contain the following:

List of Authors (Last Name, First Name):
Presentation Format (Poster or Oral Presentation):
Does your project investigate gender in any way? Yes or No (circle one)
Body of Abstract (approximately 250 words max):
For students (or groups) doing oral presentations using Power Point, the final version of the Power Point presentation must be emailed to Dr. Jenessa Steele no later than 12:00 noon on Tuesday, December 5th. This is the version that you will present during the symposium.
The Office of Undergraduate Research and Scholarship will be printing the posters for the symposium free of cost to students. All posters need to be 36 inches high x 48 inches wide. Please use the Poster Template #1 to guide your poster construction. You must submit the final version of your poster as a PDF file that includes the authors in the file name (e.g., author1-author2-author2-symposium-poster.pdf) by 5:00 pm on Friday, Nov 17th. Please email your pdf file to Dr. Jenessa Steele.
Please note the OURS website states that all poster printing must go through their online submission, however we have confirmed with Dr. Joe Wirgau that Dr. Steele will submit all the posters to him directly for printing. Therefore, please follow the submission guidelines in this email and send all poster submission to Dr. Steele by 5pm Friday, November 17th.
