Greg Ryder

Senior Instructor
Greg Ryder specializes in teaching introductory courses in the Department of History. He teaches World History to 1500, World History from 1500, United States History to 1865 and United States History from 1865. Greg received both his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Virginia Tech in nearby Blacksburg. He brings to the department not just an expertise in introducing students to history, but the insights of someone who was involved in business for many years. Outside the classroom, Greg also maintains an active interest in swim competitions, at which he regularly officiates, and can be often seen at Hokie sporting events. He is also an avid gardener.
