History Professor Receives Recognition

Rear Admiral Cedric Pringle with Dr. Matt Oyos
In October 2019, Dr. Matt Oyos recieved national recognition for his book, In Command: Theodore Roosevelt and the American Military. The Theodore Roosevelt Association gave Oyos its book award for the best work on Theodore Roosevelt published in 2018. Oyos was honored to receive the award given the large body of work published on Roosevelt annually. The book prize was awarded at a gala event held in Glen Cove, Long Island, near Roosevelt's home at Sagamore Hill. He is seen above with Rear Admiral Cedric Pringle, Commandant of the National War College in Washington, D.C. During his time at Radford, Oyos has published numerous scholarly articles and chapters on Theodore Roosevelt, the American military, and diplomatic affairs.
