History Majors win Winesett Awards

Winesett award HISTORY_2018

Two history majors won McConnell Library Winesett Awards for the 2017-2018 school year.  The Winesett Awards recognize students for creative and original library research.  Each year four awards are presented in upper and lower divisions.   Amanda Dean won a lower division award for her paper entitled “The War on Opium.”  She produced this paper under the supervision of Dr. Mary Ferrari in HIST 295, The Historian’s Craft.  Caitlin Maloney won in the upper division award for, “Through the Perilous Fight: the National Anthem, the Stars and Stripes, and American Sports.”  She wrote this paper for Dr. Johnny Moore in HIST 495, the Senior Seminar.  Congratulations Amanda and Caitlyn!
