Non-Degree seeking students are students not matriculated in a degree program at Radford University who wish to pursue coursework here.
Non-Degree students may apply to participate in undergraduate or graduate courses. Students enrolling in graduate coursework as a non-degree student must hold a bachelor's degree.
Undergraduate non-degree seeking students may include high school students seeking dual-enrollment, transient students from other colleges or students who wish to take a class solely for personal or professional development. Students planning to enroll in the Emergency Services Continuing Education Program should also complete the undergraduate non-degree application.
Non-Degree students may attempt up to 24 semester hours of coursework.

After you're admitted, confirm your enrollment in your status portal.
Undergraduate Non-Degree seeking applications must be submitted no later than two weeks (14 days) prior to the the first day of the term for which enrollment is sought.
All required admission materials are due no later than one week (7 days) prior to the first day of term.
Following approval, enrollment must be confirmed by the applicant no later than 3 days prior to the first day of term.
Non-Degree seeking students who want switch to a degree seeking student status, must apply for admission to the university through the Admissions Office.
Admission as a non-degree seeking student does not guarantee later admission as a degree-seeking undergraduate student.
Hours earned while in a non-degree seeking status may or may not apply to a major program, depending on the degree requirements. Degree requirements are listed in our academic catalog.
Prior students (including graduates) who wish to participate in non-degree coursework must apply for readmission to the university. No additional non-degree application is needed.
Non-Degree students pay the same tuition cost per credit hour as degree-seeking. Review up-to-date credit hour costs on the Bursar website.
The application for in-state tuition rates is incorporated into the non-degree application.
Admitted non-degree students should complete the Non-Degree Confirmation of Enrollment form in their status portal. (Note: you will need to use your status portal credentials to access this form.)
Senior citizens aged 60 or older with a federal taxable income of $23,850 or less on most recent tax return and who have been legally domiciled in Virginia for at least one year prior to the semester requesting enrollment may qualify for a tuition waiver. The senior citizen tuition waiver is part of the non-degree application but does need to be completed annually.
Radford University employees working in a full-time, adjunct or 1500 hour wage position may qualify for a tuition waiver for up to seven (7) credit hours of coursework for each Fall, Spring, or Summer semester. The Employee Tuition Waiver Request form should be completed and approved for each course each semester. Learn more on the Radford University Human Resources webpage.
