CVPA Ambassadors

As an elite group of selected students who represent the college, CVPA Ambassadors strive to promote the arts to the rest of campus and potential new students. They advocate for the College of Visual and Performing Arts, Radford University, and the importance of an education in the arts. You'll find our ambassadors aiding in important projects and serving the college at exciting events, picking up new skills and forging important relationships along the way.

Leadership Program Information

Description of Position: The College of Visual and Performing Arts (CVPA) Ambassadors are an elite group of students who represent the college at events and work to promote the arts. They participate in college recruitment and assist with college-sponsored activities. Tasks vary each year, but a few examples include acting as mentors for first-year students, assisting with the University Performance Series, and participating in Highlander Days. CVPA Ambassadors also assist with the Community of Artists (CoA) living-learning community by contributing to events and helping with recruitment.

Qualifications: All applicants must . . .

Be undergraduate, full-time students
Be pursuing a major in Art, Dance, Design, Music, or Theatre
Have a minimum GPA of 2.5 overall and in-major
Be recommended by a member of the CVPA faculty or a current CVPA Ambassador

Responsibilities of Position: All ambassadors must . . .

Participate in recruitment events and marketing campaigns to promote the CVPA and the CoA
Collaborate in organizing and encouraging other students from the College and CoA to participate in academic and social programs
Aid in fostering campus and community support for the CVPA
Establish and maintain a strong working relationship with the faculty advisor(s)
Regularly attend CVPA Ambassador meetings and training

Expectations: CVPA Ambassadors are enthusiastic and dedicated students who are willing to act as role models for current and prospective students. They are expected to serve as leaders of high character and to be visible and vibrant members of the CVPA, as well as the Radford community as a whole.

To Apply: If you are interested in becoming a CVPA Ambassador, the first step is to find a CVPA faculty member or a current CVPA Ambassador to recommend you. All recommended students will receive an application and additional information about the selection process via email.
