Two-Year Strategic Plan

During 2024–2025, Radford University advanced a two-year strategic plan focused on four priority areas: distinction, economic development, enrollment and efficiency. The plan strengthened our identity, enhanced student success, supported regional growth, and positioned the university for its next comprehensive strategic vision.

Radford University’s two-year strategic plan was designed as a focused bridge between long-term vision and immediate action. Launched in 2023 with the approval of the Board of Visitors, the plan called the university community to concentrate on four priorities: defining Radford’s distinctive nature, driving regional economic development, stabilizing enrollment and streamlining resources to increase efficiency and effectiveness. This shorter horizon allowed Radford to respond quickly to changing conditions in higher education while staying true to its mission and values as a student-centered, innovative and accessible institution in the commonwealth.

Over the past two years, that framework has guided meaningful progress across campus. Radford has sharpened and elevated its identity, reached and engaged more prospective students and families, and created clearer and more accessible pathways to a Radford education. Alumni involvement and philanthropic support have strengthened, reinforcing the life-changing impact of a Radford degree. At the same time, new spaces and services at The HUB and beyond have deepened the university’s role as a partner in regional economic development, expanding opportunities for students, community members and employers to connect, collaborate and grow.

This website, organized by the four priorities of the two-year strategic plan, presents the tactics that were implemented and highlights the outcomes they achieved. It is intended to provide transparency and celebrate the work of faculty and staff. Together, these results demonstrate how purposeful planning and coordinated action can position Radford University to be stronger, more nimble and even more committed to the success of every Highlander.
