Apply to Undergraduate Nursing Programs


Two applications are required for the BSN degree (pre-licensure). The first application is made to Radford University, the second application is made to the School of Nursing.

3. Prespective nursing students must take the Kaplan Nursing Admissions Test (KNAT) [PDF]

Students applying for Fall semester admission to the nursing major on the Radford Campus can apply online from September 2 to October 5., please register here: KNAT Registration

Students applying for Spring semester admission to the nursing major on the Roanoke Campus located at the Roanoke Higher Education Center can apply online from May 10 to June 15., please register here: KNAT Registration

The name you submit to the School of Nursing must match your ID. You will need to show your Driver’s License or other government issued ID when taking the KNAT.

(You may only take the KNAT once. Do not register to take the KNAT until you are enrolled in Anatomy and Physiology or have completed the course. If you registered too early, you may contact Dr. Rebecca Scheckler to have your registration removed.) 

Pre-Nursing Students (current Radford Unviversity students)

Application for admission to the upper division may be made when students are within six hours of completing the general education requirements. Early in the academic year prior to the semester in which entrance to upper division is desired, students must apply for admission to the upper division nursing major. Students must have a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above on a 4.0 scale and have completed all nursing prerequisites with a grade of “C” or better for admission consideration.

NOTE: The actual GPA required for admission may be significantly higher. Admission is competitive, with admission granted on a space available basis.
