Project SPROUT

Project SPROUT is a prevention and awareness program for children birth to five years old and their caregivers who are epxeriencing homelessness and/or proverty in the New River Valley.  Through Project SPROUT, students are trained to provide caregivers of young children with the knowledge and resources to mitigate some of the negative factors which lead to potential developmental delays and/or learning disorders.  Since 2013, Project SPROUT has provided families with age-appropriate and educational information, activities, and resources to encourage and facilitate their young children's development.

Project SPROUT is spearheaded by Dr. Corey Cassidy and is supported by the RU Scholar-Citizen Initiative.
