V.    Course Description:

This course develops the advanced psychomotor, cognitive, and affective nursing skills necessary to practice safely and competently across the lifespan in diverse healthcare settings. This course develops the theoretical basis for professional nursing skills. (1credit lecture, 1 credit lab)

VI. Course Objectives:

Upon completion of this course the student will be able to:

  1. Apply the nursing process and competent nursing skills to patient care situations. (PO 1,3)
  2. Integrate knowledge and skills in informatics and patient care technology in the delivery of patient-centered care. (PO 2,6)
  3. Demonstrate professionalism, therapeutic communication, and cultural awareness when using nursing skills. (PO 1,6)
