Alumni celebrate Homecoming's return to campus in 2021

“It’s amazing to be back on campus.”

Ask anyone who attended Homecoming 2021, and that’s the sentiment most often expressed from alumni. “It’s good to come back to the place where we had a lot of good memories,” alumna Nikki Porter ‘04 said. “It’s just an amazing place to go to school and get your education.”

From September 30 to October 2, alumni gathered on the Radford University campus to celebrate their Highlander pride and to come together as family. Fun and memorable events dotted the schedule, including a concert from an 80s tribute band, a VIP tent, luncheons, awards ceremonies and several reunions, including those for the Women of Radford, athletics and the Golden Reunion for the classes of 1970 and ’71.

“It’s just such an awesome experience to be able to come back and to just be here in such a caring community with people that I know has made me the woman I am today, and that just means so very much to me,” said Mary Campbell, who was celebrating her golden reunion along with here 1971 classmates.

Homecoming is always the perfect time for alumni reconnect with old friends and faculty and to meet new people and build relationships that will last through future generations of the ever-growing Radford Family. 

“Radford was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had,” said Emmanuel Subayi '16. “I met some great people and it helped me really grow as a person and get into the career I’m in right now. I love it here.”
