Before becoming a Highlander as part of the Radford University Carilion physician assistant program, Steve Abercrombie had already experienced and explored more of the world than most of us do in a lifetime. Now, he's sharing that experience with his classmates and using it to treat patients across the region.

Radford University Carilion Master of Occupational Therapy student Martin Bergschneider brought over a decade of unique life experiences with him to the program. His experiences, and those of his classmates, help the students understand the diverse types of people and potential experiences they may encounter as healthcare providers.

Radford University’s five online bachelor’s degree programs ranked No. 19 out of 50 in a nationwide listing of the Best Online Colleges and Universities for 2021 by College Consensus, a college ratings website that aggregates publisher rankings and student reviews.

Radford University has been named a 2021 Top Adult Degree Program institution by Abound, a college guidance system for degree-seeking adults.

Radford University Carilion Physician Assistant student Whitney Hewitt says, “Being able to talk to patients and their families, and be a small part in their care, even if it’s just a learning opportunity, is wonderful.” Learn more about Whitney and how she is preparing to become a PA at RUC.

Sarah Chase M.S. ‘18 has an unquenchable thirst for teaching. She’s not content, at the moment however, with being in one setting, or teaching a particular subject. She’s on the move, imparting her knowledge and utilizing the skills she gained at Radford University to students around the world.

Two students in Radford University’s Doctor of Education program have written essays that will soon be published in prestigious peer-reviewed academic journals.
