Emergency Action Plan

The university maintains a comprehensive Emergency Action Plan for campus based emergency management based on principles of mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery. With the realization that emergency events or individual crisis may occur as students participate in university international learning programs, the Office of Emergency Preparedness (OEP), and Radford University Police Department (RUPD) have identified the need to expand the campus risk assessment and crisis management principles to support international education faculty, students, and staff.

Working with all facets of the university community including, international program faculty and students, the International Education Emergency Action Plan (IEEAP) [PDF] will use the guidance and recommendations from the preceding reference sources. In addition, the staff of OEP, and RUPD will treat IEEAP as a "living document" and ensure that new and emerging crisis management guidelines and directives are implemented into the plan. The departments will also work directly with faculty, staff, and students to disseminate planning and response planning. Through the implementation of this program and supporting plans the university will adhere to sound crisis management principles through emergency action planning.
