International academic collaborations offer numerous benefits, including access to
diverse perspectives, expanded research opportunities, enhanced experiences for the
faculty and students, and the development of global competencies. These collaborations
foster innovation, address global challenges, and prepare individuals for a more interconnected
world.
There are many models of international collaborations, some more complex than others.
Below are some types of international agreements that are commonly explored by U.S.
and international universities:
Transfer Agreements (2+2, 3+1, 1+2+1, etc.)
Dual Degrees
Research Collaborations
Faculty Exchanges
Study Abroad and Faculty-Led Programs
The McGlothlin Center for Global Education and Engagement assists faculty interested
in forming collaborative engagements with institutions abroad regardless of how simple
or complex. If you want to explore opportunities for academic collaboration, please
