Four Radford student winners in the Roanoke AAF competition

Westin Yates' Gold Addy awarded at the 2022 Roanoke American Advertising Federation competition.

Congratulations to our four student winners in the American Advertising Federation (AAF) 2022 competition in Roanoke. These “Addy” awards are part of a three-tier competition that leads to the National Awards Show held this year in Nashville, Tennessee. The winners of the Western Virginia region will be forwarded to the district competition where they will vie against the best entries from the regional competitions in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.

Radford students who won awards in this year’s competition are:

Westin Yates (Radford class of ’22), a Gold Addy in Packaging for “Olive Garden”

Emily Woods (Radford ’23), a Silver Addy in Photography for “Overwhelmed.”

Desi Parks (Radford ’22), a Silver Addy in Mobile Apps for “Veggie”

Brittiany Rorrer (Radford ’24), two Silver Addys in Illustration for her illustrations, “Snow and the Red Tractor,” and the H.G. Wells cover series.

Thanks again to our alumni, faculty, staff, friends, and family donors who make these entries possible at no cost to our students.

If you’d like to contribute to our graphic design students entering future AAF Award competitions, we’d love to have your help. And you’ll become a member of the Radford University Art Society in the process.
