Ament Publishes Singing to Victory

History Professor Suzanne Ament has published Sing to Victory!Song in Soviet Society during World War II.  In this work, Ament explores through song the rich tapestry of Soviet culture as the people of the U.S.S.R fought for survival against Hitler's Germany.  The songs that emerged reflected both the soul of the individual and the influence of the Communist state.  Ament examines how a great cultural legacy was created, distributed, and received by the public.  The book expresses her many years of researching and teaching the history of Russia and the Soviet Union, and was published by Academic Studies Press in January 2019.
