TR Faculty and Adjunct teaching faculty have the opportunity to earn the ACUE 'AI for Higher Education' endorsement and an additional $500 in PD Funds!
What is this opportunity?
Teaching Faculty have requested access to more PD opportunities and financial support
for AI related PD. Radford University has partnered with ACUE to make a variety of
“quick courses” available to Radford faculty, including a series of 10 modules on
AI. For a limited time (Oct. 30 deadline), TR Faculty and Teaching Adjuncts can complete
a series of requirements and receive $500 of PD support ($500 in college PD account
for TR faculty or $500 PD stipend for Adjuncts) as well as the nationally recognized
ACUE “AI for Higher Education” endorsement.
Am I Eligible?
Radford University T&R faculty and Teaching Adjuncts are eligible to access the ACUE
Commons Quick Courses “AI for Higher Education,” earn the “AI for Higher Education”
endorsement and receive $500 in additional PD funds. Note that AP faculty are not
eligible for compensation, but are welcome to use the quick courses.
What are the Requirements for the endorsement (w/o the pd incentive)?
Want the $500 additional PD funds incentive? See next FAQ for additional requirements.
What are the requirements for the endorsement AND $500 additional PD funds incentive?
How is the $500 additional PD funds incentive distributed?
Radford University CITL is tracking completions and will send the final list to the
funding source on October 31. PD funds will be disbursed thereafter. Recipients can
expect a notice of availability email after October 31.
I am AP faculty or Staff and want the PD funds incentive, can I qualify if I teach
a course?
While AP Faculty and Professional Staff are not eligible for compensation, they are
welcome to use the quick courses.
Can I change my additional PD funds incentive from additional PD line-item funds to
a stipend or vice versa?
No. The PD funding pathway is affixed to employment type and cannot be changed at
this time.
How can I use my additional PD funds?
If you are an adjunct faculty member receiving a stipend, we assume you will use that
funding on professional development (such as travel to a conference, funding for research,
or funding for additional courses or certification). If you are a TR faculty member,
you can use the funding in whatever way you usually access and use departmental professional
development funding.
I am eligible for the opportunity but either missed or did not receive alert emails
from CITL or ACUE. What do I do?
No worries! Complete your registration online.
I completed all requirements for the endorsement and/or additional PD funds. Is there
anything else for me to do?
No. On October 31, CITL will send completion tracking data to the funding source and
notify ACUE to send certificates to all endorsement recipients. You will receive email
notifications shortly after October 31.
