Prerequisite: ACTG 212 and either ITEC 304 or ITEC 340

ERP Systems is a study of Enterprise Resource Planning systems including their history, purpose, selection, configurations and lifecycle.

        a. ERP Life Cycle Overview

Detailed Description of Conduct of Course

This course will be taught in lecture format.


Goals and Objectives of the Course

Students who complete this course will be able to:

1) Explain the advantage of ERP systems for Business.
2) Name and discuss the primary modules and related work flows that ERP systems support.
3) Explain business process re-engineering and why that on-going task is key to business success.
4) Explain the keys to successful ERP selection.
5) Explain the importance of ERP configuration and customization.
6) Demonstrate an ability to configure and customize an ERP system.
7) Explain activities involved in ERP operations.
8) Identify ERP security threats and responses.
9) Explain how ERP systems can be used for strategic advantage
10) Demonstrate the ability to generate custom ERP reports
11) Demonstrate the ability to use tools for data analytics on a ERP data store.


Assessment Measures

Assessment may include at least two exams, assignments that determine if a student is absorbing the conceptual material, and assignments that require life cycle activities on an actual ERP system which may be done on an individual or team basis.
