This course enhances data literacy and introduces methods and techniques for documenting data, curating data, and organizing information by applying taxonomic principles.

  4. Taxonomic principles

VI. Detailed Description of Conduct of Course:

Techniques of organizing, integrating, and documenting data from various sources are presented, studied, and practiced. Students complete assignments in curating data.

VII. Goals and Objectives of the Course:

To complete this class, students will: 

  1. Read, work with, analyze, and argue with data. 
  2. Create and maintain documentation to preserve, manage, and ensure high quality data. 
  3. Organize and classify data and information. 
  4. Capture, manage, assess, and apply metadata. 
  5. Explain information exchange models, enterprise business architecture, and privacy frameworks. 

VIII. Assessment Measures:

Students will be evaluated based on assignments and multiple examinations.
