ATTR 634: Advanced Athletic Training Communication

This course focuses on communication and conflict resolution skills and strategies required for athletic trainers to practice in a variety of settings.
Detailed Description of Content of Course
This course provides students with advanced practice in communication and conflict resolution skills required to successfully practice as certified athletic trainers (ATCs).These include, but are not limited to, active listening, handling conflict with coaches and athletes, motivation of athletes through the rehabilitation process, and communication with other members of the sports healthcare team.
Detailed Description of Conduct of Course
Course instruction may include but is not limited to: presentations by the instructor and by guests, professional readings in these areas, role playing sessions and and skills demonstration.
