On-campus parking is provided for faculty, staff and students who choose to purchase a parking permit. However, to ensure you know the facts about parking on campus, we have a list of helpful parking tips below.
A vehicle is not registered until license plate information is entered in either OneCampus
or the parking portal and a virtual annual permit is purchased. The permit cannot be transferred or shared between student accounts or to any other vehicle other than ones to which it is registered
on the account. The license plate must be visible from the lane of travel while parked
in any campus lot.
Visitors may purchase parking through the application a web browser at an hourly or daily rate Monday-Friday. Lot availability may vary throughout the
semester. AMP passes do not guarantee a space to park in a lot. AMP sessions are lot-specific.
If a lot is not available you cannot purchase time for that lot or park in that lot,
you will need to choose a different lot. A new AMP session must be purchased to park
in a different lot. Students and employees are never considered visitors of the university.
University apartment parking is only for apartment residents. No one other than the
apartment resident may park in a university apartment lot. AMP passes are not available
for visitor parking in the university apartment lots. Commuter students, resident
students and faculty/staff must park in the lot designated for their annual permit
during enforcement hours Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Apartment visitors must purchase
an AMP pass during enforcement hours Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Parking permits are non-transferable. In case of a change of automobile, update your
vehicle and license plate information in the parking portal.
Inoperable vehicles must be reported to Parking Services and the University Police
Department in person or by phone. (Notes left on the vehicle are not acceptable.)
A vehicle is only properly parked if it is in a parking space, which is defined as
a marked area with painted parallel lines on both sides. In lots that are not so marked,
vehicles must not take up more than one space.
All citations must be paid prior to filing the appeal, and the appeal must be filed
within 10 calendar days from the date of the citation. The first date counted, in
the 10-day rule, is the citation issuance date. All decisions of the appeals committee
are final.
Parking is enforced year-round, 24 hours a day, including summer sessions, holidays
and all breaks. Enforcement hours are Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. in all parking
lots. There are areas that are enforced after 6 p.m. and on weekends 24 hours a day
year-round, and they include disabled spaces, sidewalks, grass, curbs, yellow- or white-lined
areas, fire lane, fire hydrant and all university apartment lots.
For vehicle loading and unloading outside of the move-in and move-out period, use
the 30-minute spaces only. 30-minute spaces are not available in all parking lots.
Permits and AMP passes do not allow for parking beyond the 30 minutes.
Virtual annual permits and AMP passes cannot be used to park in reserved or coned
spaces.
Virtual annual permit holders with a valid DMV-issued disabled placard or plate may
park in any disabled space in any campus lot. If all the disabled spaces are full,
then the permit holder may park in a regular space except for reserved or coned spaces.
The use of emergency flashers does not give permission to park illegally. Lack of
convenient space is not a valid excuse for violations.
