Microsoft 0ffice 365 will start using the Entra SSO login on October 28, 2026! Review the information below to learn more about this effort.
Microsoft Entra ID is the University's cloud-based identity and access management service. It provides secure access to Microsoft 365 and other University applications using a single sign-on with Microsoft Entra ID. It will replace the current single sign-on system.
Radford University is migrating to Microsoft Entra ID as part of our ongoing effort to modernize the University's technology services. Entra ID is a widely used platform and will better position the University to support new cloud-based services and technologies in the future.
What to Do?
What to Do?
For most people, no special action will be required. You may see a new Microsoft sign-in screen or be asked to sign in again after we move to Microsoft Entra ID. You will continue to use your existing Radford University username and password, and any additional steps will be communicated if needed.
What Changes?
What Changes?
The biggest change you will notice is a new Microsoft sign-in experience when the University moves to Microsoft Entra ID.
This will affect any system that uses Single Sign On (SSO).
What's the Same?
What's the Same?
What stays the same is your Radford University account—you will continue to use your existing University username and password, and most applications will work just as they do today. In some cases, you may be asked to sign in again or complete multi-factor authentication, but no major changes are expected for most people.
Moving to Microsoft Entra ID will help strengthen protection against phishing and account compromise by giving the University more advanced tools to detect suspicious sign-ins and block risky access. Attackers will imitate Microsoft sign-in pages, so continue to be cautious with unexpected login prompts and report anything that looks suspicious.
