Salvatore Privitera is passionate about photography and contemporary art. He believes photography is a universal art that connects and shapes our lives on a regular basis. Through images, we experience, learn, and connect on a global scale.
Working in the field of photography for over 15 years, Salvatore Privitera has found the most satisfying moments to be in teaching young artists. After receiving his MFA in Photographic and Electronic Media, he began to work at various colleges in his home state of Connecticut which eventually brought him to Radford. His love for the arts and photography has driven him to grow as a professor and be adaptable to all students in his classroom.
At Radford University, Salvatore Privitera serves as an Assistant Professor of Art. In the classroom, he instructs on all forms photography. From historical wet process darkroom to current digital trends, his students experience a large spectrum of what photography can be in both art and commercial applications. With a strong belief in conceptual art, Mr. Privitera meets and works with students individually to craft their own vision and concept at all skill levels.
Salvatore Privitera explores current political issues and trends in his artwork. Primarily using black and white photography, his images are meticulously crafted using 3D printed models and studio lighting. Mr. Privitera has exhibited artwork nationally and internationally, including Budapest, Hungary, Barcelona, Spain, and London, England.
