Melissa Gerth became Executive Director of the Summer Residential Governor’s School
at Radford University after serving as the Coordinator of the Theatre Program in 2025.
She holds a B.A. in Music and an M.A. in Theatre.
As an educator, Melissa serves as an adjunct professor for both Radford University
and Virginia Tech, where she teaches for the departments of theater and dance. She
served ten years in the role of Associate Director of the Ridgefield Conservatory
of Dance in CT, and six years as an adjunct professor for the departments of theater
and dance at Webster University in Saint Louis, MO. Additionally, she has taught at
Fontbonne University (STL), Missouri Baptist University (STL), Mahidol University
in Bangkok, Thailand, The Patravadi School Hua Hin, Thailand, and served three years
as the Director of the Radford University Ballet Youth.
As a performer, Melissa has performed various roles with Repertory Theatre of Saint
Louis (STL), Metro Theatre Company (STL), Axial Theatre Company (NY), Mustard Seed
Theatre Company (STL), Insight Theatre Company (STL), Edgar Cortez Dance Theatre (NYC),
and Downtown Cabaret Theatre (CT). She danced with James Robey Dance Company for ten
years (CT) and has choreographed several musicals and plays, including original work
presented at both the Saint Louis Fringe Festival, where she won the Critic’s Choice
Award, and the Rome, Italy Fringe Festival.
