Faculty Spotlight: Dr. Andrea Barrick

Dr. Andrea Barrick holds a PhD in Political Science from West Virginia University, as well as Master's degrees in Social Work, Political Science, and Public Administration (all from West Virginia University). Starting in Fall 2023, she will be joining Radford University School of Social Work as an Assistant Professor, after serving as an Assistant Professor of Social Work and Gerontology at Shippensburg University. 

Dr. Barrick's teaching experience in social work includes courses in policy, practice, research, human behavior in the social environment, and field education. She will be able to teach a range of courses in our BSW and MSW programs. Her research focuses on domestic violence and policy-making by the US court systems. She has published six peer-reviewed articles and has two manuscripts currently under review. Additionally, she is involved in the editorial review process of several social work journals.
