BSW Student Katerina Peters Awarded SURF Grant
We are delighted to announce that Katerina Peters, our BSW student, has been awarded a highly competitive SURF (Summer Undergraduate Research Fellow) Grant for her research proposal titled “Domestic Violence Survivors, Protection Orders, and the Intermediate Appellate Courts.” The project, completed under the expert guidance of Dr. Andrea Barrick, will investigate the work of the intermediate appellate courts in protection order cases over a thirty-five-year period and examine the various factors that influence judges as they make protection order policy.
The SURF Grant will enable Katerina to pursue her research project with the resources and support she needs to make a meaningful contribution to the field of domestic violence law and policy. We are excited to follow Katerina's progress and look forward to the valuable insights and knowledge she will bring back to our school community.
Congratulations to Katerina!
