A Note of Sadness
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Etty Vandsburger, Professor Emerita in the School of Social Work, who passed away on December 6, 2023. Dr. Vandsburger's journey with us began in 1996 as an adjunct professor, and her unwavering dedication led to her progression to Assistant Professor in 2007 and ultimately to Professor Emerita.
Her enduring commitment to social work education earned her tenure and full Professor status. Beyond the classroom, she passionately contributed to various committees, showcasing her dedication to social causes and critical societal issues.
As a prolific researcher, Dr. Vandsburger made profound contributions to the field of social work, particularly in aging. Her impact, reflected in numerous publications and grants, demonstrated a commitment to advancing knowledge and best practices.
