2022 Graduate Spotlight - MSW
MSW Graduate Kaylyn Messenger - "The MSW program has been such a formative experience! I have developed strong relationships not only with my cohort but also with the School of Social Work faculty. During my time at RU, I gained experience through amazing opportunities by participating in the Child Welfare Stipend program, completing two incredible internships, and serving as a Graduate Teaching Fellow. These experiences helped me build my skills and the confidence that will serve me well as I move forward in my career. I am so grateful to my professors for their passion and dedication to helping us develop as professionals in the field. During my time in the MSW program, I have discovered my passion for working with adolescents within a clinical setting. I have accepted a position as an Outpatient Therapist at Highlands Community Services in Abingdon, Virginia. I am looking forward to beginning my career as a social worker and continuing on the path of lifelong learning and service in southwest Virginia. To my cohort, we made it - cheers to new beginnings!"
