The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Radford University is seeking to expand and develop new areas of clinical research to enhance our programs. We invite applications and nominations for two full-time tenure-track positions at the rank of Instructor/Assistant Professor. The required areas of clinical research expertise are motor speech disorders, voice and resonance disorders, fluency disorders and/or swallowing.The selected candidates will pioneer the creation of a new clinical practice in their area of expertise with collaborating partners. These practices will serve as a catalyst for the new emphasis on advanced clinical practice and research. These are nine-month appointments beginning August 2022 with possible summer funding available. 

Required Qualifications

Candidates must have an earned doctoral degree or ABD in speech-language pathology or related area, qualifications requisite for Virginia licensure in Speech-Language Pathology, and professional certification (CCC-SLP) through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).  Applicants who are ABD and meet the requirements for licensure and certification must have their PhD conferred by May 2023. Individuals who are ABD will be hired at a rank of instructor. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate coursework, supervising in the Radford University Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic, establishing or continuing a line of research in specialty area, student advising, and University service.  

Competitive compensation

Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. In addition, the position will be provided with a reduced teaching load during the first year of employment to support the development of a research program. Relocation funds are also available.
