Numerous events are scheduled on campus throughout the week, including a panel discussion of local women entrepreneurs on October 22, 2019 beginning at 12:30 p.m., in the Bonnie Auditorium.

Featured in the discussion will be Laura Godfrey, the founder and chief operating officer at Point 93; Radford University student and photographer Alex Moral; Radford University alumna, staff member and ceramic artist Sidra Kaluszka; and University staff member and designer Nelly Archibald.

Alison Armstrong from McConnell Library and student Xavier Duckett will moderate the discussion.

The University’s new Venture Lab is hosting an open house during the week, providing a look at the innovative space dedicated to student entrepreneurs. The open house is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon on October 26, 2019.

The week concludes later that day with the Women of Radford Luncheon where participants can reminisce about Radford’s history as an all-women’s school and celebrate the University’s women of today. The event runs from noon to 2 p.m. in the Davis College of Business and Economics, located in Kyle Hall, in the Multipurpose Room on the third floor. Tickets for the luncheon are $18 per person and can be purchased online.

“Radford University is delighted to participate again this year in Women’s Entrepreneurship Week. Cultivating an entrepreneurial mindset is an important skill for success,” said Associate Provost for Academic Programs Jeanne Mekolichick, PhD. “The goal for our participation in this global event is to recognize women creating ideas, businesses and nonprofits that benefit our local and global community. Our events are meant to support and nurture women at Radford University who are already pursuing their ideas as well as those with nascent projects.”

Women Entrepreneurship Week events are initiated by Radford University’s Division of Academic Affairs and the Center for Innovation and Analytics in the Davis College of Business and Economics. Additional participating academic units include: the Waldron College of Health and Human Services, McConnell Library, Equality and Computing Club, Department of Information Technology, Center for Career and Talent Development and the Office of Alumni Relations.
