Radford University hosting Global Education Conference 2018
Radford University’s College of Education and Human Development is hosting its third annual Global Education Conference this summer.
The one-day event is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Aug. 18, at the university’s Cook Hall.
The conference is designed to serve the needs of pre-service and practicing educators who are striving to develop global competencies for themselves and their students as they enter a rapidly changing and ever more interconnected world.
Sandra Lima Argo, CEO and director of programs at Liaison America, will serve as the keynote speaker. She is an educator and entrepreneur who has developed a passion for international studies. In Brazil, her native country, Argo has worked in K-12 schools in distinct roles and as a consultant for educational institutions.
Additional conference presenters will focus on topics relevant to the preparation of pre-service and in-service teachers and their efforts to foster preK-12 students’ global competency skills.
