When Corey Roadcap was introduced to Radford University by college recruiters, he didn’t intend to attend a four-year institution; however, a visit to campus quickly changed his plans. Radford University proved to be the place for him. The location, small class sizes and the faculty with years of industry experience sealed his decision to apply.
“I wanted to be surrounded by passionate and talented students, professors, and administrators who thrive on enhancing the quality of life not only at this university, but also around the world,” said Roadcap.
Roadcap was searching for a challenging major that would provide him with an education relevant to his life interests.
“My major in computer science tests the limits of my problem-solving and critical thinking skills and prepares me for the real-world problems I will likely face during my career,” Roadcap said.
While Roadcap is majoring in computer science and minoring in physics, he ultimately has plans for a slightly different path after graduation.
“My passion is flying. I plan on training to become a pilot in the United States Air Force,” Roadcap said. One requirement to become a pilot is earning a bachelor’s degree in science or engineering. With a solid educational foundation, Roadcap said, “Radford University is helping me get one step closer to my goal."
