Radford University has announced the recipients of the prestigious 2021 Dalton Eminent Scholar Award. The annual awards provide faculty members opportunities to go above and beyond in their chosen academic fields.

At first, Carolyn Mathews didn't naturally gravitate toward a career in teaching. But in 1975, a classroom realization changed all that, virtually in an instant, and what followed was nearly a half-century spent in education. Last October, Mathews was designated a professor emeritus in Radford University’s Department of English.

Radford University’s Office of Undergraduate Research & Scholarship (OURS) has named Jennifer McDonel, Ph.D., as its new associate director. In this position, McDonel will help carry out the OURS mission of supporting student-faculty research, scholarship and creative inquiry across campus.
