The Honors College sponors Quiz Bowl events for Radford University. Quiz Bowl is a team-based, academic/trivia competition with tournaments held around the country. The Honors College hosts an on-campus tournament each fall semester and takes a travel team to intercollegiate tournaments in the spring semester. Radford Intramural Quiz Bowl Tournament
WHAT: Radford University's annual Quiz Bowl Tournament sponsored by the Honors College. It's like a team version of the television gameshow Jeopardy. You can read more about the rules here.
WHEN: Saturday, September 29th
- Opening instructions and light breakfast: 9:00am
- Preliminary rounds: 9:00am-12noon
- Lunch (provided): 12:00-1:00pm
- Final round: 1:00-2:30pm
WHERE: Heth Basement (starts in Heth 043)
WHO: Any Radford undergraduate student AND each team may have one faculty or staff member. Each team is 4-5 players total; full teams, partial teams, and single players are welcome to register. Partial teams and single players will be combined to make full teams.
WHY: It's a blast (fun, exciting, competitive)!!! Prize money for students on the top teams (1st place $50 each student, 2nd place $35 each student, 3rd place $20 each student). Top individuals scorers will be invited to try-out for RU's intercollegiate team. Faculty/staff team members are not eligible for monetary awards or for the intercollegiate team.
HOW TO SIGN-UP: You can sign-up as an individual, partial team (2-3 players), or full team (4-5 players). Single players and partial teams will be combined, when possible, to create complete teams. A maximum of one faculty/staff player per team. Due to the high demand, we can only include the first 12 complete teams in the tournament. After 12 teams have registered we will start a wait-list. Get your team together as soon as possible to have the best chance to obtain a team slot! Registration will remain open until the tournament is full or not later than the registration deadline.
