Aisha Noma, '21
Theater Design/Tech concentration and Cinema minor
Noma committed herself to taking advantage of educational opportunities available to her through Radford to position herself for post-graduation success. After graduation, Aisha Noma accepted opportunities to work as a Stage Manager Apprentice at the Roundhouse Theatre, one of the "Big Six" around the nation's capital. By being flexible and translating her stage management skills into new things, she’s become the Events and Rentals Coordinator at the Arena Stage at the Center for American Theater.e.
Aisha says her classes and practical experience at Radford helped her become versatile and prepared. She developed skills in stage managagement, software applications, design, scenery and box office management that have helped her become a desireable candidate in the professional world. And her willingness to try new things has been a great advantage.
Her advice? "To apply to everything. Being a theatre major doesn’t limit you – it can branch out to everything, all of the skills you are learning now will help you. When you graduate, it’s about the experience. KEEP YOUR PASSION. If you don’t like what you’re doing, you can change!
