Katie Wells is a dancer, a teacher, and the founder of Interweave®, a humanitarian company hosting events and classes to promote connection with self and with community.  Since earning her undergraduate degree in Dance from Columbia College Chicago and her Master's in Dance from the three year graduate program at the University of Colorado at Boulder, Katie has become a certified teacher in Spiritual Embodiment from the Realization Process, and is currently training to be a teacher in Mindful Self-Compassion. Katie performed solo improvisations across Europe, has been in dances with Mordine and Company, The Chicago Moving Company, David Dorfman Dance, and Joe Goode Performance Group, and continues to perform solos with musical groups such as: The Desert Dwellers, Leftover Salmon, Lobo Marino and the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra. At Radford University, Katie has taught Somatics, Modern Dance, Physical Theater and Dance Appreciation. In Addition, Katie offers performances, classes, and events in the SWVA community creating events for PFLAG and Women's Gatherings and coordinating the environmental awareness benefit, the Mountain Mama Festival. She designed the course, Goddess Dance, which she teaches in yoga studios and retreat centers, and leads opening ceremonies and workshops for both Floyd Fest and Yoga Jam.
