CAS Test Proctoring Center

The Role of the CAS Test Proctoring Center

The Center for Accessibility Services offers test proctoring services to students with approved testing accommodations. Faculty members who have students who receive testing accommodations may provide the necessary accommodations in the classroom or another space that they monitor (conference room, office, etc.) Other faculty members may not be able to provide proctoring on their own. In this case, the faculty member should offer the student the use of the Center for Accessibility Services Test Proctoring Center. If a student is planning to test with the CAS Test Proctoring Center, the student will complete a Test Proctoring Request Form 5 days (including weekends) prior to the requested date of the test. (See How to Submit a Test Proctoring Request Video).

The Test Proctoring Office is an extension of the classroom. While the Test Proctoring Office is an area for students to use their approved testing accommodations, the instructor is still the authority on how the test should be administered and taken.  In reviewing the Test Proctoring Request, the instructor will ensure the date and time are correct and indicate what materials, if any, can be used by the student during the test, how long all other students will have to take the exam, and how the exam should be returned to the instructor.

Please note that the CAS Test Proctoring Center within the Center for Accessibility Services is for use by Radford University students taking courses on the Radford Main Campus.

Students associated with the Center for Accessibility Services but taking courses at Radford University Carilion in Roanoke or the Roanoke Higher Education Center ishould refer to their campus testing center for test proctoring needs.

How to Submit a Test Proctoring Request

The Center for Accessibility Services asks that students submit Proctoring Requests five (5) days prior to the requested date of general exams. The provision of advanced notice allows the Center for Accessibility Services to ensure adequate space, time, and staff to proctor the exam.

Test Proctoring Requests should be submitted through Access CAS, which can be accessed via ONECAMPUS. Please see the linked video on How to Submit a Proctoring Request via Access CAS for visualized instruction.

Please note that while students should submit Test Proctoring Requests through Access CAS, the Request will be sent to the course instructor-- who will either approve or decline the request. CAS staff members are not able to provide Test Proctoring without the instructor's permission.

Students who arrive at the CAS office without having submitted a Test Proctoring Request through Access CAS may need to work with CAS and their instructor to schedule another time to take their test.
